Linux MINT, a friendly introduction

My first blog post about Linux MINT appeared at the end of 2013. At that point, I decided that I was moving to Linux MINT as my replacement for the Windows XP operating system. XP was about to lose support and I needed an alternative. The blog post explains my reasoning.

Then the LIFE Computer Club at Ryerson University asked me to do a presentation at the November 2015 meeting of the club. There was a technical glitch with the presentation. I was asked to do it again in February 2016, but without the glitch. This PowerPoint presentation (pdf version) is my introduction. It is to be followed by a live demonstration.

My view is that Linux MINT was a good choice for me. It provides me with a stable, secure WIMP oriented operating system. And I get great flexibility in exchange for only a bit of script tweaking.
