Course Operation

The course is about our search for meaning. In my view, there's no right answer to: “What's the meaning of my life?” I plan to present evidence that can be used to support the meaning that's important to me. That evidence might be used support different conclusion, and different evidence could be marshaled that would support different conclusions. To repeat, there's no right answer. The challenge is to find an answer that works for you.

The course will succeed if class participants are engaged and actively debate and discuss the material to be presented during our sessions together. Each week, the outline for the next week's session will be presented. And supporting notes, including references, will be available online. Participants are encouraged to dip into that material, and to find additional material that may shed a different light on the material.

Participants who are so inclined can add material to the class website. All documents prepared by class participants will be added, with links from the appropriate weekly outline. For those technically proficient, editing rights can be provided to the site. Others can provide a document that will be added by a class moderator to the site.
